Cream sauce

You should not be recreating cream sauce with compliant ingredients. This is what we call Sex With Your Pants On (SWYPO). It makes you want the real thing and insures that your relationship with food remains the same as it always has been. What you need is a new relationship with food. The way to get a new relationship with food is to focus on the great meals you can create that are great in themselves and not an echo of something you ate when pasta was featured on your plate. So the answer to your Can I have question is no.

I'm definitely not a W30 expert (this is only my second attempt). But last night we made a cashew, garlic, "cream sauce," served with sweet potatoes, chicken, and spinach. I didn't even think about it being SWYPO! But for us alfredo, or other creamy sauces, have in no way been a stumbling block in pre-W30 eating. This dish itself was VERY satisfying and did not stir up cheesy desires in my W30 heart. (Disclaimer: I'm lactose intolerant, so this is really not a different food in our house).

Now, those banana pancakes? Oh yeah, that would be dangerous for me.

Maybe the general rule is still "no", but it seems a less SWYPO than some other treats. (But that may just be because of my tendency towards sweets!)

Part of the SWYPO ruling is a little gray... for someone that is in love with pasta and alfredo sauce and can't figure out how to live without it, that would be SWYPO.  For someone who couldn't give a rip about it, it's a little more gray as to whether it qualifies or not.  There are some things that are not negotiable like the pancakes, baked goods, fudge etc... I think you can use your own judgement here.  If you woke up thinking about it and are now trying to figure out a way to arrange every meal around this sauce, then you should probably back off it.  Also, a ton of nuts aren't ideal so if it's a nut sauce, don't go overboard on it :)
