rw1647
I'm on day 9, which is now day 1 because last night I accidentally are a couple of teaspoons of non-compliant mayo (someone else had theirs in an identical container to mine in the fridge at work), and last night/this morning I feel AWFUL... Achey muscles, headache, fuzzy headed, very restless, had a really rough night's sleep. I was feeling pretty good for the batter majority of the day yesterday. I was intending on going longer than 30 days anyway so while I'm annoyed about my slip, I'm surprised about how I feel and I don't know if, only a week in, a couple of tsp of, worst case scenario, canola oil/HFCS mayo could cause this reaction or this is another wave of detox, some weird PMS manifestation, or I'm coming down with something. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? It could be a reaction to something in the mayo. Many mayos contain soybean oil, so perhaps soy is not your friend? It may also be a coincidence of you coming down with something. In any case, resuming 100% Whole30 eating can't hurt. Maybe have some compliant ginger tea or bone broth as well?
rw1647
Very well could be...one of my main motivations for doing this is to figure out what else I'm reacting to, since I know I react to gluten and some forms of dairy but definitely having symptoms of some other sensitivity before starting Whole30. If I didn't know for sure that I hadn't eaten gluten, I would have thought I had an exposure yesterday, since my symptoms last night and this morning were very similar. I'm also wondering about msg, which elicits similar reactions in me, though it's been so long since I've had traditional mayo, I don't know if msg is added to it ever? I don't know, but whatever it was just gave me more motivation to commit to this process because I really did (and still do to a degree) feel awful! praxisproject
I react quite a bit to some of the seed/soy oils (and HFCS), they flip some kind of inflammation switch for me and I can have a similar reaction (canola, soy). Some conventional mayos also contain gluten. Locally, we're seeing barley (contains gluten) being added to a lot of mayo brands.
