Day three, I feel good. Am I doing something wrong?

Well today starts day three and I only woke up with a headache which is normal for me if I didn't drink enough water before I went to bed. I feel good though! Two hard boiled eggs with hot sauce, celery, and a banana for breakfast. I'm enjoying the fact I can eat some fruit, not too much, but better than the crazy diet I tried before hearing of Whole30.

I'm beginning to worry that maybe I'm doing something wrong? I saw those chips lying there, the chocolate milk in my hands that my fiance passed to me, those dark chocolate covered almonds in the fridge but the temptation never took over. I'm really beginning to think I'm doing something wrong, I feel full of life this morning. I was under the impression day three would be horrid and I would become a monster.

Maybe I have a late start and day five I will be everyone's worst enemy? Staying strong though! I want to impress my sister when she comes in to town. She will be here on day 30! I cannot wait, it's my goal to stay with it until I see her.

Positive things I have felt so far is that I have not been as bloated as I was. My pants don't fit so tight and I have had more drive than I have had the past three months. Almost too good to be true at this point.

Wish me luck!

When I did my first Whole30, I never had the 'kill all things' part of the timeline either.  I felt great day 1, felt a little less great as the first week went on and temptations started to kick in, but honestly never had a 'bad' time with it.  By the second-third week, things just were fantastic and all my NSV's were shaping up nicely.  So, I think it's possible to skip some of the timeline.

I will comment though that your breakfast looks a little weak.  Celery is hardly a vegetable, mostly water and two hard boiled eggs isn't enough protein for most people either.  And, you're lacking fat in your breakfast too.  I would try to shape your breakfast better as it will set you up for the rest of the day - three eggs (or two and another protein), 1-3 cups of veggies (I do kale and other cruciferous veggies sauteed in the morning, but some can't tolerate that) and a healthy portion of fat, think avocado, mayo for the veggies, olive oil, something.

Great to hear that it's going well so far, keep at it!

Thanks jburth7! I will certainly adjust my breakfast. It will take some time but I will get this, I know I can.

I will need to be prepare myself for the mornings, I tend to do it the night before (I'm a "jump out of bed and get going right away to work" kind of person).

I'm certainly hoping I don't hit a slump, I did fight the cravings yesterday but today I feel no cravings.. so far. Let's see how this pans out!

I'm glad I stumbled on your post @krondina! I too am on day 3 and am in such a good mood that I also thought, am I doing something wrong??? I'm signed up for the whole30 daily and today's email was all about how to deal with the crankies but truth is I'm not cranky at all (and I should be in hangover overload given the extreme crap I was eating before whole30, think fast food once a day). I've also had a really hard time prior whole30 with waking up early in the mornings and staying up. But yesterday and today I woke up on my own at 630 am and stayed up, which is completely unheard of for me. I do get hungry and I have experienced headaches, lack of attention and focus in the afternoon at work, but overall I'm great and the cravings for crap food are not there at all. I even spit out a piece of cheese I accidentally put in my mouth last night from one of my roommates' salad. Just hoping that I can keep this energy up week 2 when the rest of the whole30ers are over their crank-phase.

Vcoletto, I am so glad I am not alone! I seriously thought that maybe something was very wrong.

Yesterday I hit the major headache and sickness which was devastating, I do not know how I made it through work but here I am the next day.

I also paid for the daily email and was just so worried when they said today should feel like a ton of bricks brought by a fast moving freight train should hit me. Thank goodness it has either missed me or just going to hit me later.

My food habits were not too bad, though I have a bad sweet tooth. I am a person who ends dinner with a sweet treat, so it's been hard not to grab a peanut butter cup or jello right after dinner.

Vcoletto, we can do this! I hope our energy levels remain up. Good luck to you on the program!
