LAS3024
Tomorrow will be Day 10 for me and it's a stressful day as my son needs to have a procedure at the hospital and emotions are what have usually led me to comfort myself with some sugar so I'm wanting to put some things in place in case I want to quit. I have not wanted to quit at all yet so think this probably won't be likely but just in case I'm taken by surprise. Here's what I've come up with so far: Taking the day off from work so no added stress, seeing a friend in the morning, making sure I don't get too hungry (eating well balanced meals), prepping lunch and dinner, packing an RX bar in my bag in case I'm at the hospital longer than planned, breathing, starting the day with writing in my journal, having a kombucha once I get home after the procedure... Any other thoughts?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 14, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 14, 2016 That sounds like an incredibly well thought out plan! I'm actually very impressed! The fact that you are thinking about a plan tells me that you are committed to this journey and that you are not going to quit! I'm not sure how long this procedure is but you may want to consider packing actual food instead of or in addition to the RX bar. How about a couple hard boiled eggs and some olives and carrot sticks in a zipper bag? I also suggest making a travel mug of tea or bringing a teabag of your favorite tea to get hot water in the cafeteria... sometimes when we're stressed we want something to do with our hands, so maybe having the tea to hold/fiddle with would help? LAS3024
Thanks, sugarcubeOD. Brining a real mini meal is a great idea. I'm still breastfeeding and will probably be breastfeeding alot before and after the procedure so I might be hungry. Tea is also good. I usually always have tea at work. And I am committed! My house is still full of non whole30 food though as I'm the only one doing it in my house so there is loads of chocolate, ice cream, etc in my fridge. I am able to eat those in moderation usually so it's not a big deal for me to see them but I am aware that a tough day, lots of nursing, and feeling hungry might make those hershey kisses look good...
