Marjanill
And I also have enough baking equipment to start my own bakery!
Xandra
For decades, women (especially) defined themselves by their flaky pie crusts. I myself perfected pumpkin pie, apple pie, and pecan pie, all served with brandy whipped cream. Blue ribbon this, baking contest that, parties organized to exchange dozens of cookies! Amazing stuff, hours of prep, years of practice, kitchen full of gadgets, all to produce some of the least healthy food you can stuff into your face. Changing that mindset is not the easiest thing, but fat and salt help a lot. Spatchcocked turkey with crispy skin, anyone? That does get me excited now. And I'm tolerating the old baking equipment, but slowly pushing it out of my cabinets.
katieblue
For decades, women (especially) defined themselves by their flaky pie crusts. You are SO right! We're so much more than our baking abilities. We are crispy skin and creamy guac and bright minds and kind hearts and superhuman strength.
Xandra
Except muffin tins. Lesson learned not to ditch the muffin tins, which have lots of good uses for things like proscuitto and egg cups, or ground beef muffins.
