HEDGEHOG8
Hi, Sorry I didn't know where to post this. Am I right in thinking if I eat or drink anything non- compliant in the whole 30 it starts again from day 1? I got to day 11 and then.... Excuses excuses! So after that I call it day 1 again? My own fault - thanks in advance Happy eating x
jmcbn
If you made a conscious decision to eat/drink something off plan then I'd say yes, you're back to day one.Ultimately though, you decide - take a read of this article and then let us know your decision.. HEDGEHOG8
It just confirmed what I thought....I DO need to start again. There was just no way out of it on Friday/Saturday. What I think is I did it for 11 days rather than thinking I have a party to go to I won't start yet and do it for no days -and put more crap in my body. I already started again yesterday :-) go me!!!! I want to learn to surf is the whole 30 log. Thanks for your reply Happy eating everyone! :-)
thegoldengrahamgirl
There absolutely was a way out of it; you chose not to take it. It's called planning in advance, either by planning compliant choices at the restaurant and/or bringing your own food. It's good to learn how to socialize while on Whole30. Your mates aren't going to force feed you non-compliant choices. But yes, much better to get back in the saddle immediately versus spiraling negative food choices. Go get 'EM HH8! praxisproject
With parties and things it's really worth thinking about whether it's something that's special enough to derail 30 days worth of effort (or your health goals). If it's your best friends wedding or a once-in-a-lifetime overseas holiday, that's pretty different to a weekend night out with friends. A big change for me was realizing I didn't have to eat junk or drink to have fun with friends and family, or "not go" because I was afraid to eat out or go out. It takes a bit of organization but you can do it
leslie706
I've had to learn this as well. This is my third attempt at the Whole30, never having made it more than six days. However, I am on Day17 right now. I have been able to eat out twice, and also eat at a banquet that my husband's work threw, but calling ahead. I called the Mexican restaurant and they separately marinated meat for me (without soy sauce and cooked it in olive oil) and I told the folks at Longhorn that I had a soy and dairy allergy, so they cooked my steak accordingly. I brought my ghee and salad dressing with me in my purse. It's been exhausting, but it's completely rewarding to invest in myself and offer myself this much effort. HEDGEHOG8
Thanks for replying and I understand your responses. I have always been the friend to 'eat or go out with' hence the reason I got to the size that I have. It was kinda a special occasion but not on the scale of a one off - a 10 year event but I guess I had my reasons. Am back on day 7 and have no intention of quitting this time. Happy eating everyone :-)
