BeckiRN
I frequently go to the gym to work out within my first hour of waking. Today, my first day of my first Whole 30, I woke up and had 2 hard boiled eggs and added some coconut oil to my pre workout green tea. After my workout (I workout at Orangetheory Fitness, which is a HIIT based group gym), I had 2 baked chicken legs and a sweet potato. My question is, should I just eat my Meal 1 after I work out and not have 3 more meals? I wasn't able to get 3 meals in today if I don't include my post workout meal. I should also add that I ate my post workout a little more than an hour after I finished at the gym. If I should try to eat both the post WO and 3 meals, how soon after the post WO should I eat Meal 1? Thanks!
laura_juggles
More often than not, my post workout meal isn't anything close to a full meal. It's literally 3 bites of chicken and sweet potato because I'm heading home and will be having a meal in an hour. The post-workout food needs to count separately from your 3 template meals
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted January 19, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2016 This post has a lot of information about post-workout meals. As laura_juggles said, it doesn't have to be a lot, but it needs to be pretty soon after your workout, and it's in addition to your other meals.
