Pisa2075
OK so I am at day 19 and feel like I still don't have my blood sugar under control. I am 42 and just have blood sugar issues but no diabetes. I am still craving sweet food so badly--and still fighting candida too. I am 5.5.113 and eating really large meals, but two hours later I am ravenous for more food. Today for example for breakfast I had: two slices of turkey bacon, 1/2 cup of bok choy sauteed in ghee, 1/2 cup of applesauce. An hour later I ate a green apple with nut butter (which I dont want to want due to sugar issues) but so hungry. 30 minutes later I had a 4 oz piece of chicken. By 11:30 I was starving again. I had a 6 oz piece of chicken breast, 1/2 cup of zucchini noodles and four pieces of broccoli, all sauteed in lots of ghee, then I had a banana with almond butter. By 3 I will be so hungry again.... I know its too much fruit, but fighting this sugar dragon is hard. Also, the other night for the first time ever I had a larabar. I was so frustrated with being hungry. It was the first time I felt the hangry person go away. Also I know my body needs more time. I am still quite bloated after eating and still belching. Carlaccini
First of all you are not eating enough - 2 slices of turkey bacon is not nearly enough protein nor fat. Aim for portion of protein that is the same height, width and thickness of your palm. This is a minimum. Feel free to add more if you need. Also make sure you are eating enough fat - 1 -2 thumbsized portions. Generally cooking fat is left behind in the pan unless you scrap it out onto you plate. Vegetables - aim for 1 - 3 cups of veggies with each and every meal. Do not let fruit push vegetables off of your plate. Lastly - if you are honest and truly hungry - eat!!!! Eat another template meal if you have to. Some of us take more time to get used to eating 3 meals a day. Now it is best if you eat 3 meals a day - don't get me wrong - but we also don't want to be hungry or hangry.
Hannlib
Your really large meals are tiny. So small. No wonder you're hungry! Fill a large plate with protein, veggies and fat, ditch the fruit and nut butters (I'm sure you know they will be feeding your Candida issues). No need to be hungry. Eat food! Pisa2075
Thank you. I am just so unaccustomed to eating these large volumes of food. It doesn't feel normal, as a former 20 year vegetarian. I will try increasing my portions of all foods. This morning I had three turkey sausage links, a full cup of sauteed zucchini and onions, and a sweet potato sauteed in ghee, and feeling much more satisfied. Thanks for the perspective.
