Whole 30 newbie! Starting today Jan 19th

Well... here we go! Excited to get this journey started. I realized a while back how dependent/addicted I have become to sugars and carbs and long story short found Whole 30!

So day 1 has been slightly rough going... my husband and I had our "last unhealthy meal" last night and went out with a bang with pizza, of which I doused in Hot sauce and needless to say... I am paying for THAT choice today! I had scrambled eggs and green beans for breakfast with a half a grape fruit & a half a banana. I think the grapefruit through my stomach into a fit because all morning I had the chills and sweats and bathroom problems... Took an unsweetend alkaseltzer, and that took care of that thank goodness! For lunch I had a giant salad with sunflower seeds and raisins. Followed by a handful of cashews & Seltzer water. For Dinner I will be having a Whole 30 tex mex soup we made last night. Excited about that. Battling a sinus headache today... hoping that will improve, but am sure it will get worse over the next few days!

Hi Jess, welcome to Whole30.  Just wanted to draw your attention to the meal template (linked in my signature below).  There are recommendations on how to compose your meals in order to both get the best results and to try and mitigate any symptoms of transition you may have.  :)

Thanks! Ladyshanny! I am having a hard time understanding when and how much for the fruits and nuts. I read yesterday not to have fruit with bfast, so I skipped that today. Had scrambled eggs using coconut oil and green beans plus black coffee and a seltzer... then at about 1130 I had an apple and now I am about to have the whole 30 tex mex soup for lunch. My girls love to snack on raisins. Could I have a little cup of raisins and cashews, after lunch or no... still getting the hang of all of this. SUPER tired today.... but, husband kept me up last night, so not sure if its that or the food change...or both...
