Coconut milk & coffee question

Recommended Posts

I'm overseas so finding compliant products can be a challenge. The coconut milk with the fewest ingredients I can find has:

-milk

-water

-guar gum

-polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate

-sodium metabisulfite

I'm guessing those last two are no goes?

In that case, any other suggestions about what to put in my coffee. I've tried black and just can't do it.

It is possible to make your own coconut milk -- http://wellnessmama.com/2447/homemade-coconut-milk/

Or nut milks -- http://tasty-yummies.com/2014/04/08/how-to-make-nut-milk/?m

Obviously, don't use peanuts for the nut milk, and don't use sweeteners or non compliant flavorings.

Also keep in mind that nuts and anything made from them have less than ideal omega-6 to omega-3 ratios, so use them sparingly.

If you don't like black coffee, maybe you really don't need coffee since you have to doctor it up to make it palatable. Maybe try switching to tea. There are so many varieties available.

Coffee is an acquired taste if one is used to drinking it all fixed up. I think it's reasonable that someone uses a few days to get used to the difference before they can decide if they like it or not.
