Xandra
I've been unable to find a fish sauce without sugar. I bought some anchovy paste and figured I could mix some up, but I don't know what fish sauce is supposed to taste like. Suggestions?
quotidianlight
Fish sauce is fermented and will stink to high heaven when making at home. I have a great fish sauce without sugar in bough for cheep from an importer. Can't find it right now but when I get home I'll post a link. It is an excellent authentic fish sauce. jhmomi
I hope you find somtlething you can try. The Red Boat I bought at Whole Foods seems pricey at first but a little bit is enough to add nice flavor so it lasts a long time. Much longer than my coconut aminos for sure... quotidianlight
Okay, this is the one I use. They have it on Amazon but I bought several bottles from the importer for less http://importfood.com/sarp4201.html
Xandra
Hmmm, there was a fish sauce at Whole Foods yesterday but I know it had sugar in it. I'll have to ask them about Red Boat. I don't think my kids would appreciate it if I fermented anchovies in the house. Thanks for that tip!
