HelenLA
I'm planning on making that ketchup recipe from the whole30 book this weekend. However, I don't have apple cider and don't know if I could even get apple cider this time of year. I was going to try just using apple juice. I looked up other recipes and don't find one thats comparable. have any of you tried this or do you have any advice / thoughts? thank you for your help. CateyG
I made the "kickass ketchup" recipe from Mel Joulwan's website; believe it's from her most recent cookbook, Well Fed 2. Doesn't call for apple cider. Although I did see compliant apple cider in my regular grocery store this weekend, in the produce section. http://meljoulwan.com/2014/03/06/wf2-recipe-kickass-ketchup/

HelenLA
Its not apple cider, its apple cider vinegar according to the recipe in the whole30 book you actually need a half cup of apple cider and a half cup of apple cider vinegar. that is the recipe I was referring to. I already had apple juice but I ended up finding a 16 ounce bottle of apple cider so I did use that.
