laurenponders
These seem like they would be approved, but are they? Here is the product in question: http://www.vitalproteins.com/collagen/collagen-peptides.html I understand al the rules about drinking your food, etc., but I I got curious when I saw these recipes: http://balancedbites.com/content/paleo-noatmeal-apple-cinnamon-banana-coconut/
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted February 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 16, 2016 The collagen looks fine but what about those recipes is confusing? That type of thing is what we want you to avoid on a Whole 30 as it is not a good meal template meal. It's a huge blast of sugar (usually eaten first thing in the morning), it doesn't have the appropriate 1-2 palms of protein or 1-3 cups of vegetables. Edit to add: This type of 'notmeal' is recreating old favorites with compliant ingredients which we refer to as Sex With Your Pants On... again, not allowed. Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 16, 2016 The collagen you are asking about is priced exceptionally high. Thrive Market sells beef collagen - 16 ounces for $13.45. I stir mine into a cup of tea every day. My wife stirs her's into coffee.

I'm very familiar with the Whole30 and its rules and SYOP (although to me, fake oatmeal is not SYOP...oatmeal just isn't that great to begin with). I wasn't saying I wanted to make the recipes I attached, only that it got me wondering about this ingredient that I had never heard of before. Appreciate the info! Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted February 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 16, 2016 Oh, okay great! I wasn't sure what part of the recipes you were referring to so thought I'd put that out there.
