tm5148
I have experienced significant dizziness when first waking up and getting out of bed on day 10 and 11. It does not last very long, but is alarming at the time. Can honestly say that I have not deviated from the program guidelines. I do take a small dose of sleep med call Temazepam and have been taking this for several years. Any helpful suggestions?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2016 It would help to know what you've been eating the last few days, including approximate portion sizes, as well as water intake and exercise.Off the top of my head, a couple of things that could cause this are not eating enough or not salting your food. tm5148
Hi Shannon, Meal plans have been to guidelines as far as foods and quantity and have pretty well been the same as the first 9 days. Typical breakfast....vegie omelette, 2 slices bacon, black coffee; typical lunch....lettuce, tomato, avocado, and protein like roast chicken or turkey; typical dinner....salad, protein from meat, chicken, or fish, and steamed or grilled or roasted vegetables. All foods are Whole 30 and my serving sizes have been appropriate...often feel quite full before finishing meals. I use salt...if anything maybe a little too much. Only difference last couple of days has been higher intake of fruit juice.
Mistyfire
Eliminating processed foods eliminates a lot of salt which can significantly lower blood pressure. It sometimes shows up more with position change. You might want to get your blood pressure checked.

Only difference last couple of days has been higher intake of fruit juice. It's hard to tell portion sizes from what you've listed, but here are some of my thoughts: - when eggs are you sole protein, the serving size is the number of whole eggs you can hold in one hand without dropping them. For most folks, that's 3-4 eggs. - how many veggies are you having per meal? We recommend 1-3 cups. - is the bacon compliant? - are you having the black coffee before your Meal 1? If so, have it with or after, as caffeine acts as an appetite suppressant - lettuce and tomato, and salads in general aren't very satiating: you'd need to have a HUGE mixing bowl at a meal to be satiated. I wonder if you're bloated vs full, since raw veggies can have that affect on some folks? You might try switching to all cooked veggies. - where is the fat in the meal where you're having steamed vegetables? - are you getting at least a fist-sized serving of carb-dense vegetables daily? - are you drinking at least 1/2 an ounce of water per pound of body weight, daily? tm5148
Thanks Mistyfire and GFChris for all the insights and recommendations....I will make adjustments to my program in the areas you suggested and monitor from there. The good news is that the dizziness has subsided some. My blood pressure is well within normal range. The bacon we are using is Whole 30 compliant....all natural with no sugar or preservatives. I feel like I eat too much protein but will focus on ensuring that my intake is to the recommended program quantities. I am definitely not consuming enough water and will make that change immediately. Additionally, while I have never experienced vertigo before, I will get checked out by my family doctor today in the event I have developed this coincidental with me being on the Whole 30. I am on day 16.
