Hmm not that helpful

It's was 1 mouthful and only thing in 6 days off plan

Guidance would have been helpful

Thanks

Did you make a conscious decision to drink the Coke? Could you have got some water from elsewhere? Or calmed the cough somehow with controlled breathing? etc etc etc....

With sugar not being just as disruptive to the gut as some of the other off plan foods we generally leave it up to you.

If it were me I'd start over, simply because sometimes in these situations if we know there is an 'out'; a 'loophole' of some description to justify our actions, then we are less likely to stick to the rules going forward just as stringently as we otherwise might.

But then I'm a stickler for rules.

It was a small mouthful not because I wanted a drink but because I was unable to stop coughing didn't make me think I can do it anytime etc

I will continue and if by my 30 day it's still weighing on me then I will extend by 5 more days I guess...

It was just one mouthful I was asking more how much that would effect me eg sweetener etc than my will power which is fine

How bad is one small mouthful ?

Who knows - he only

I would probably keep going.

But on this occasion, let me say a bit about the broader issue... The Whole30 requires elimination of off-plan foods, not minimization of off-plan foods. There is no allowance made for a little of this or a small amount of that. A little of this and a small amount of that can make a serious difference to some people. And it is impossible to know if you are one of those people until you have totally eliminated the off-plan foods for 30 days and then reintroduce it under controlled conditions. Realistically, we know that many people are not eliminating off-plan foods 100 percent. They are minimizing them. That is a shame because they are minimizing their results too. So we uphold high standards and hope people will take themselves seriously enough to comply.

But in your case, I would probably keep going.

I agree with Tom and in this case would keep going... you are only on day 6 so by the time you get to 30, it will probably just be as easy to go another 5 days so you know in your heart you completed a full 30 days (which is huge in the mental game of life).
