Changes to period

I just turned 39. I started Whole30 on Sept 3. My period also started that day. My period started again Sept 24. On the second day, in the evening I all of a sudden had heavy bleeding and discharging large blood clots. I have never had this large of cots before or all of a sudden heavy bleeding. I also noticed leading up to my period hot and cold flashes. Can this be my body's hormones adjusting to healing that's taking place in body? I am concerned.

And I feel fine. No cramps or pain.

Whole30 has been known to make some drastic changes to a woman's cycle as hormones come into balance. Generally it takes a cycle or two before things start to even out. However, if you are worried, I wouldn't hesitate contacting your MD about the clotting and heavy bleeding.
