EricR
Hello - I'm on day 20 of the program and feel great, following it completely. Today I was prescribed this Dry Eye Omega fish oil for a dry eye condition I have. Ingredients are: highly refined and concentrated omega 3 fish oil, capsule shell (gelatin, glycerin, purified water), Natural mixed berry/Orange flavor, Natural mixed Tocopherols (soy), and Cholecalciferol. I've scoured the forum and internet and cannot find for sure if these are compliant - is anybody here familiar with these? I'm not questioning whether or not I should take it, because it's for a medical condition. However, I am wondering taking four of these a day will have an impact on my diet. Looking for any advice! thanks Eric
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted February 23, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 23, 2016 If it has soy in it, then it is not compliant, however as you're well aware, doctor's orders trump the rules. Can you find something similar that doesn't have soy in it? That's the real killer... the small amount of glycerin in the capsule is not going to be a problem for your Whole30. I don't think this is going to impact your results, however, ideally you would find something without soy. I'm not trying to usurp your doctor's advice but can you start taking these in 10 days when your 30 days are up?
EricR
Thanks for the reply...I was given a few other things to try besides the fish oil, as it's just another means to try to resolve the dry eyes. So I could get through the next 10 days (since I'm so close) and then try them by using it as one of the first reintroduction items. Finding a soy free option is also a possibility.
