Irish183
Good Morning, I am new here and am thankful for what I have read so far on this forum. I did search about rashes on the forums before I posted here but wanted to get input from you all, if possible. I am now on day 15, but the rashes started developing about 10 days in to the Whole30. I have developed two above both the left and right hips and my anus has been itching as well. In fact, last night it was so bad it woke me up. I have been logging my food and I haven't introduced something new to my diet. I eat eggs every day, meat, vegetables, and fruit. I feel great otherwise, but this is driving me nuts. Now, I have read that this could be Candida die-off. How do I really get rid of Candida? I have been told that I have had yeast buildup in my body before and the doctor usually gives me steroid cream, but I am tired of all that. I need to find out what is going on and fix it. Any help you all can provide would be great, because I am getting frustrated.
Carlaccini
Are you eating many raw peppers, tomatoes and potatoes with the skin on? These things will give me a rash (for me it's psoriasis) right above my anus as well.
Irish183
Thanks Carlaccini. I am not eating anymore of that food than normal, really. That's the perplexing thing about the rash. I am largely consuming the same foods, just in smaller amounts. Cutting out peanut butter, bread, and sugar was the biggest change for my diet. Carlaccini
Some times we react cumulatively to foods. Meaning they build up in our system and then one day our body simply can't take anymore and reacts. I was like that with onions. I used to eat onions without issue prior to my whole 30. But then suddenly I started eating onions (not in large amounts mind you) 3 times a day. Every savoury meal practically started with sauteing some onions. After a while I had issues with my stomach being upset, bloating and discomfort. I eventually realized that I was overdoing onions and my body didn't like it too much. I use onions as an example - but it could be any food that could be causing this. Some of the more common things that cause skin problems are nuts, eggs, nightshades, and some fruits. Yes eating like this can seem restrictive - but once you figure what works best for you - it can make a world of difference for you.
Irish183
Thanks. The rash on my hip is going away but I had to go to the Doctors for the other one. It was unbearable and I was unable to sleep at night. So far, nothing seems to particularly set it off. Perhaps it has something to do with the toxins leaving. It's still there but getting better. praxisproject
If you've been using steroid cream and stop, you can also get a "rebound effect". Make sure you discuss with your doctor. If you've never heard of it, you might want to check out Latex allergy, there's some pretty common foods in this group and itchy/painful rash can be a symptom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latex_allergy#Latex-fruit_syndrome
mp19
This happened to me during my Whole 30 also. Turns out I had a nut allergy that I never knew about.
