I am so excited to be a part of this community and start my very first whole 30!  I'm 26 and I've been overweight my whole life, but have never weighed as much as I do now.  It's disheartening, and I know it's because I haven't taken good care of myself in the past two years.  Between smoking, binge drinking more than once a week, and eating whatever I want, I've never felt this foggy, depressed, tired, anxious, bloated, sick, and unhappy.  I eat pretty healthy about 80% of the time, but my problem has always been portions as I tend to eat until I'm sick to my stomache! Ugh.  I'm excited to learn how to listen to my body and use food as nourishment instead of to full an emotional void.  I love to exercise, eat healthy, and feel good in mind, body, and soul, but sadly I've never fully committed to ANY of the above for an extended period of time.  Well enough is enough! I love reading It Starts With Food and learning how to fuel the body with whole foods. I have asked my brother's girlfriend to join me on this journey so we can both motivate and support each other, and I'm looking forward to finally changing my life and being everything I know I am capable of including strong, happy, motivated, full of energy, lean, and passionate about life! Let's do this!

i'm starting on monday also! threw out my maltitol syrup and chocolate-cookie-dough flavored protein bars, and gave up grains and sugar immediately. this will be my last weekend with dairy and paleo wraps and a few other non whole 30 things, then monday it begins! for years, i've known that sugar is super toxic and addictive for me, and only recently have i been able to admit that the sugar-free stuff is really just as bad. my goals are to: 1.) lose as much weight as my body needs so i can be strong and healthy (10 pounds?) 2. figure out if i should eliminate dairy forever 3. curb sugar cravings. thanks for posting!! excited to start on monday and hear about your progress. all best from LA, devin

I'm starting Monday also. I've completed the program 2 times. My third time I didn't make it all the way through so I'm recommitting again. Hubby and I planned a date on Saturday and I want to enjoy it. I need to get my snacking under control and lose weight. I'm finding it harder and harder to lose weight but easier and easier to gain it. We can do this.
