shelley417
I noticed on chows talked that some of the short rib recipes are cooked with red wine. Is that whole 30 compliant?
Derval
Nope, sorry.
Susan W
Unfortunately, no alcohol while doing Whole30. Beef stock would be a perfect substitute. I sub beef for red wine and chicken stock for white wine all the time.
befabdaily
If you're braising/stewing something, you can also put a couple of tbsp. of raisins in the sauce. Not enough to make it sweet, just enough to bring the grapey goodness.
Robin Strathdee
Hi Shelley! Could you link to those recipes? I'm slugging through them all right now to make sure they're compliant and I'll get those removed ASAP. Thanks!
shelley417
Can you tell me how to link?
shelley417
It's called braised short ribs from free range human. It calls for 2 cups of red wine. I an on an iPad and it doesn't seem to let me link.
Susan W
Just go to the recipe/website and highlight the address in your bar. Then hit "control c" and come back to this thread and hit "control v". It's just a cut and paste thing.
Robin Strathdee
Thanks Shelley! I'll get rid of those right now!

Susan W
Original recipe is still there with 2 cups of wine. Easy to delete the wine. Robin are those your recipes? Again..Nancy Drew here (quiet Derval)..if you can delete recipes they must be yours. Or a family member?
Robin Strathdee
They aren't mine, but I can control what shows up on the Whole30 pages on Chowstalker and Foodie. It's part of my job to "unfavorite" the recipes that don't tow the line. Is it still showing on the W30 page? Or just Chowstalker in general? Susan W
Oh, Robin, I was just clicking on the link in the post above which does't appear to be a link from Whole9 or Whole30, but I'm not positive.
Robin Strathdee
Ah, gotcha. I found the recipe on the Chowstalker Whole30 page (where the OP found it) and unfaved it, so it won't show up there anymore when folks are looking for Whole30 recipes :0)
