Maria Giron
Hi! I am new to the WHOLE30 and I am loving a lot. But I am a little confused about how many fats can you eat per meal? For example, is it ok to eat 1/2 an avocado and I tbsp of almond butter for breakfast? or how many fats Can you include each meal? I saw the template but I don't know if you are supposed to choose 1 out of all the fats it says there or how does it work? Thanks
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted March 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted March 20, 2016 The template says 1-2 portions of fat, so in general, pick 1-2 of the options on the list. If sometimes you have a little more, that's okay too -- sometimes you might want a salad dressing, and some olives, and some avocado in a meal (like in a taco salad, for instance -- I could see maybe wanting all three of those things in some amount). Pay attention to how you're feeling after the meal. If you're starting to get hungry around 4-5 hours after you eat, you've got the portion sizes about right. If you're not hungry 6-7 hours later, you may have overdone it a bit. If you're really hungry 2-3 hours after you eat, you might need to increase your portions.
