MelissaTriesWhole30
I am on Day 12 of my first Whole 30. I am going to make asian inspired meatballs and cauliflower fried "rice" tonight for dinner. Both recipes call for soy sauce. Do I sub equal amounts of coconut aminos for the soy sauce? Or more? Or less? TIA.

My experience with coconut aminos is they are very similar in taste to soy sauce.
Moderators LadyM Posted March 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted March 22, 2016 I find them to be sweeter and not as punchy in terms of saltiness. I often add a splash of fish sauce (Red Boat is compliant) to help. But yes, a 1:1 works for coconut aminos: soy sauce.
laura_juggles
Nom Nom Paleo has a "recipe" for cauliflower fried rice and it calls for both coconut aminos and fish sauce. I'm having cauliflower fried rice and chicken "teriyaki" for lunches this week (I'm post-whole30 and the teriyaki sauce has honey, but the rest is completely compliant...could probably make the sauce without the honey and have it be fully compliant )
