need motivation to stay on track

Recommended Posts

end of day 12 here, and feeling discouraged. been following the program 100%. just feel blah, and am tired.physically and emotionally tired. have not noticed anything different really, def no "tiger blood", oh and everything still fits the same, maybe a little tighter, which i know is expected, but its discouraging.  looking to see when others start noticing the positive benefits of whole 30.  looking for some motivation so i keep on keeping on. thanks!

Ok, a couple typical days.

M1: 3 eggs over top of spinach/kale (3cups), sweet potato w/ghee, olives.

M2: 2-4oz(palm size) chicken breasts, half bag of frozen veggies (approx 2c), carrots/celery w homemade mayo (ranch), olives

M3: steak (larger than my palm, 6oz), huge salad (mixing bowl size) with fresh chopped veggies, olives, pickles and evoo dressing.

M1: 3 egg omelet w onions/peppers/mushrooms, homemade hashbrowns, olive oil drizzled on top of everything

M2: paleo buffalo chicken bake (w30 compliant), 2-3c mixed green salad w evoo dressing, olives.

M3: homemade chicken wings (7-8pieces) w tons of celery/carrots (at least 20 sticks) w compliant mayo ranch, salad (2c at least) w evoo dressing

I drink at a minimum 96oz water a day, not including compliant club soda.

Sleeping 7-9hrs. Have twin toddlers so that's not straight thru, I wake a couple times a night.

Your meals look pretty good to me, but I'll let a moderator weigh in more specifically.

Day 12 is probably too early to be expecting loose pants and tiger blood. On my first Whole30, I didn't get my tiger blood until day 22 or 23. Hang in there, it's going to take a little more time to get over that hump!

I felt pretty rough throughout my Whole30, which I completed this past fall. Honestly, I really only started feeling *good* during the last few days. But, boy, your meals look good and well-balanced to me, and you are very nearly halfway there!

I feel very confident in saying that nearly all of my lost weight and non-scale victories/improvements happened during the last week, perhaps even the last 5 days of my W30. Of course there are no guarantees, but I felt really good on Day 31, and every struggle felt worthwhile. I had a lot of struggles, for what it's worth, especially early on - nausea, low mood, decreased energy and focus (I have ADD and the loss of sugar made my medication less effective, something I hadn't been expecting all) hit me during the first two weeks especially.

The fact that you are doing this with twin toddlers has me in awe, frankly. You're amazing!

Just stick with it!  Your meals look awesome and it's just a waiting game right now.  I really struggled with my energy levels until day 18.  I woke up on day 18 and felt like I was almost "normal" after dragging for 2 weeks.  Since then, my energy has just continued to increase and my workouts are awesome.  It was definitely worth the wait for tiger blood.  I also didn't start really seeing changes in my body until this week but all of a sudden I have muscle definition in my shoulders and back and I'm on day 24.  You can do this!

All this has been so helpful! Original poster reflected all my concerns/issues on my current day 17. Curious to see how the remainder of the program played out for you?! Twin toddlers, omg. So hard to balance it all. Great going!
