KVW's Whole30 Start

I just returned from vacation yesterday, recharged and ready to start my first Whole30.   Last night, enjoyed a baguette with butter, some easter chocolate and a bottle of red wine:)  Great sleep last night, up @ 5:30, coffee with Almond milk (no Splenda!), 2 scrambled eggs, two turkey patties.  Shopping after work tonight for my family and myself  - I am a busy Mom/professional with a working spouse, so will be going off the first week meal plan and shopping list to make it easy.  My goals are:

 - to not feel as tired

- to not have as many aches and pains

- to feel more intellectually acute

- to not be a prisoner of my food and wine habits:)

- to feel lean and less bloated

Weight 148.9b, and not planning on weighing myself again until April 28th!

Size:  8

Congratulations on starting the Whole30. Today is also my start date and after two weeks of prep work and an entire day of meal prepping, I can say I am exhausted. The hardest thing for me during the next 29 days will be no more hot tea's with sugar in the morning. This morning I had Ginger tea with nothing and I was disgusted. I may give up hot tea for good because no sweetener is no joy for me. Good luck!!

Good luck to you as well!  Now on Day 4 - have not cheated at all, but agree I am exhausted from managing it!  Still feel it is worth it - I have already had several comments on my skin "glowing", and my husband is amazed that I am not giving in to red wine at night:)  I tried the Coconut Curry Chicken from the book with Cauliflower Rice, and it was amazing - my husband had two helpings.  Not sure about you, but I am the only one in my family of four who is attempting it and wish I had more support.  But, maybe they will start to be inspired!  Good luck and hope your w30 is going great!

Day 8:  The weekend was incredibly difficult, but I persevered!  Friday in the office, it was one "food meeting" after another, starting with (!) Chik-fil-a!!!  Arghh!  Then there was pizza and margaritas at my neighbors....my husband (love him, but NOT supportive) drank beer and wine in front of me all weekend, then had the neighbors over for drinks and more Chik-fil-A (just opened nearby).  Also survived a four-year-old birthday party with pizza, chips, cake and soda...if I can survive this weekend, I can survive ANYTHING!  No slip ups!

And, I made spaghetti squash with marinara/ground beef for my emergency lunches this week.  I will be leaning hard on that dish, for sure.  Also discovered Flackers - a flaxseed, no sugar type of cracker.  Awesome!  I am more committed than ever.  I unfortunately do not feel much lighter, but that's probably why they don't want you to weigh yourself.

I do wonder how sustainable this is going to be afterward...it has been incredibly taxing on my family relationships as I am very focused on my food and not so much on their food.:)

...or them.  :)
