Butter Oil as a supplement?

In the past I've taken Butter Oil along with my Fermented Cod Liver Oil capsules, as recommended by the WAPF. Is butter oil essentially the same as ghee and therefore allowable on the whole30?

For that matter, is supplementing with FCLO recommended? Sorry if this is covered by the book, I've ordered a copy but haven't received it yet.

Butter oil is like ghee but made from peak season milk and the protien/water is spun out instead of cooked out. I did a bunch of research and consider FCLO/HVBO compliant . Don't react to the protien in it at all when I actually can with not great ghee and I get too much benefit for me to consider it off limits.

Butter oil is new to me. If the milk proteins are removed, it may be okay, but I'd rather have the Hartwigs offer an opinion before saying it is okay or not during a Whole30.

Fermented cod liver oil is not in the index of It Starts With Food and I don't remember the Hartwigs talking about it anywhere.
