April 11th start date. Not so sure I can make this a family affair

My family offered to participate with me in the W30 since they knew it would make it much easier. After browsing through the W30 forums for athletes though I think it would be a program killer for me.  My family is very athletic. My 20 yr old full time college student and works is starting to train for a 5k and my hubby plays softball and works out.  They are both very thin and i think I would be concerned constantly about their diet. I think I should just work on this for myself. Not thin and not athletic here. What do you all think?

I like to start on my own because then I can go through my moody grumpy ups and downs of the first week without dealing with other people's grumps as well.  If my family gets on board, it will be after I've gotten myself stabilized.  However, just my process of eating clean impacts the family because they eat what I eat.  Tonight, I'm making some paleo chocolate chili which I will have on a bed of arugula or spaghetti squash, but I'll probably cook up some rice or potatoes for the kids and hubby.

It is nice if your family is on board because then you can clear the junk food out of the house and, as a family, you can all focus on eating "clean".

I didn't start my first whole 30 last year to improve my running/recovery, but they were "fringe benefits" that I couldn't have imagined.  Sore muscles, nope. Endurance, yep.  I was training for a half marathon at the time, so when I say endurance, I mean it!  It was a little tricky at first to figure out how to fuel myself for a long run, but once I adjusted and figured out just the right balance of foods and added in a 4th meal each day I was peachy keen.  I highly recommend getting your family on board if they are willing.  Read the book again.  How bad sugar is for you.  How many health benefits there are to eating cleanly...  why in the world would you turn down their willingness to heal their own bodies (I cannot adequately stress how many "fringe benefits" I myself experienced, problems I didn't even realize I had before they started to correct themselves and I realized "oh, that's not normal").   I would do a happy dance and get a second job if my family would go on board.  As it is I baby step their diet towards better, cleaner foods and refuse to quit.  B)
