First round, day 6, extra PMS bloat?

I'm due to start my cycle in 1 to 3 days (it shows up anywhere from the 7th to the 9th each month). I feel quite a bit more bloated than usual. The first 3 days of the program, I had a very upset stomach and more flatulence than usual. My gut is getting back to where it should be, but the bloating is bordering on uncomfortable. Is this somewhat expected and should I ride it out, or is there perhaps something I'm doing wrong?

Example meals (only olive oil used for cooking, compliant spices where necessary)

- Scrambled eggs, white/sweet potato hash with chopped up green veggies and a piece of fruit.

- Diced chicken breast with sauteed veggies

- Beef with roasted veggies (potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, asparagus)

- Snack would be freeze dried fruit or raw veggies (sugar snap peas, carrots, etc)

Looking at what I just wrote, I am eating a lot of brassicas, although I've never had problems with them in the past. My diet has been relatively repetetive as I'm in the middle of fixing up a house and trying to keep enough food in both the "live in" and "fixing" house to be able to eat at either location.

I can tell you that the first two weeks of my Whole30 I was very bloated. I went back to the meal template and realized I was eating WAY too many starchy veggies. You are only supposed to have one fist sized portion a day to start unless you are working out and then have one as a post WO. Once I cut back on the starchy veggies the bloating went away.

Yeah, the dried fruit, raw veggies, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts & sweet potatoes can all be problematic when you over-expose yourself to them.

And that's not taking into consideration what was in your 'green veg' or 'sauteed veg'

You might want to cut back on the cruciferous & raw veg to start off with & see how you go from there.

Do you take any probiotics? If not it's something you might want to consider.
