brittney
I had my annual physical this morning which required me to fast and give some blood at 8:30am. I've never had an issue having blood taken however today was a totally different story. I'm on day 10 of the Whole30 and when I had my blood drawn today the first vein "rolled" and on the second attempt I was scarily close to fainting. I started losing hearing and a slow blackout ensured before I came to and was assisted to the couch by the nurse. I felt a little better after having some water and lying down but it is now 11:15am and I am still feeling very light headed and uneasy. I my usual breakfast, two eggs with sweet potatoes and avocado, and even just had a half glass of OJ to help my blood sugar rise, but I am still feeling very off. Any ideas on what I should do to get back to normal?
jmcbn
It would be helpful to know what you've been eating over the last few days, including portion sizes, activity levels, sleep/stress etc.Your breakfast today is light in protein (a serving of eggs when they are the only protein in a meal would be the number of whole eggs you can hold in one hand without dropping), and if that is a typical meal it may well be that you've not been eating enough... Bear in mind also that it can take two weeks or more for your body to become fat adapted which won't have helped.Hopefully you'll start to feel better as the day goes on. praxisproject
Dehydration and low blood pressure also alter blood draws, both of these can occur when you've not been getting enough food/liquid.
