Sass
I am Stacie and I am a Hashimoto's Thyroiditis patient. I take Amour thyroid as well as a pill box full of daily hormones and supplements. I have been 100% gluten free for 2 years. I started the Whole30 on April 5 in hopes of getting to the next level of health. I have been following my doctors instructions to the letter for 2 years and I do not feel well at all. I am better than I was before but I just know this level of health is not all there is for me. There has to be more. I ride a constant roller coaster of a few days of OK energy and mental clarity and then I crash for weeks at a time. I am thankful for the few days of wellness that I have but just know I can get more. Looking forward to finding that missing key and hopeful Whole30 will help me! Sass
I have Hashimoto's too and am getting ready to start on the 20th - good luck to you! To you as well! I am on day 15 and feeling ok. I really wished I would have done the nightshade vegetable elimination as recommended for autoimmune sufferers. Maybe next go around!
Sass
Whoops I meant I started on Monday April 4th. That's the mental clarity thing I am talking about! ;-)
PhysicsHippie
I too have Hashimotos and am on Day 21! I have noticed that my mood/energy levels have improved the past few days, so I started working out again starting this past Monday, although I'm not feeling the TREMENDOUS energy that most people speak of... But I'm able to run off of only one cup of coffee during the day, so that's an accomplishment I guess. I think we're used to running a lot less energy than most people, so I kind of expected not to be up to par with most people's energy levels. I was reading up on AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) and eliminating nightshades (I LOVE tomatoes/ketchup) and that just seemed too challenging for my first Whole30. I think for my next one, I'd like to try.
