WholeNewMelissa
I stumbled upon The Whole 30 by chance and I'm extremely excited and nervous - I want to cry sad and happy tears at the same time! I have participated in thousands of diets and I've been successful in some and quit from others. I stopped "dieting" three years ago and have managed to maintain my weight - which is still considered to be overweight - and be pretty happy with myself in a size 12 (I was a size 20 before). However, I know there's a slimmer me in here somewhere and I'm not as happy with myself as I once was. My friends are all losing weight, some through drastic measures, and some through conventional measures but I have been eating well and changed my lifestyle but I seem stuck. I think the Whole30 will be challenging, but realistic. I have stomach issues all the time, undiagnosed, and am looking forward to seeing if I can figure out my own triggers by eliminating some things. I'm happy to have the support and knowledge of tons of other people behind me. 6 days til transformation....
TrainingbyTara
Sounds amazing! I think it's wonderful that you gave up dieting- I have as well. i am trying to view whole30 as more of a challenge for me to get out of some bad habits and not viewing it as a weight loss measure- I just really want more energy and better sleep! I am starting today, lets keep in touch as you start next week!
MicheleM
Hi, I'm starting my second Whole30 April 25. I did my first one last August, but I didn't pay too much attention to the reintroduction. However, since then I've noticed that my stomach throbs after eating bread and I think I may be lactose intolerant. So, this Whole30 is definitely a time for me to see what's going on. I'm nervous about not eating certain foods that are convenient even though they are the ones I'm testing. But I am excited to feel good and eat good foods. meloncollie124
Hi Melissa-- Congratulations on deciding to begin something new. The line in your post "...a slimmer me in here somewhere and I'm not as happy with myself as I once was" really stood out to me. I am not at all trying to shame you, and it is your right to feel and believe as you do. I just wanted to share words of encouragement. We already have enough pressure on us to perform well, to succeed, to meet others' standards of whatever is "good enough". Sadly, we don't hear enough encouragement. I encourage you to take time during the 30 days to develop a loving relationship with your body, as-is. Whatever size 12 looks like on you is good enough. I sincerely hope that you get what you need out of this experience, and that you find peace for your stomach issues!
SRS
I'm starting April 25 as well. Unexplained illness in remission cropped up again, so I expect some good results. This should be interesting...
