LKCastello
I also started on April 11! I am shocked at how accurate the timeline is. I have been cracking up at how much I am fitting the norm. On Friday, day 5, everything was annoying! The train station was too big, people were too rude, everything took too long...etc. This morning I woke up from a hilarious dream that I was saying out loud, "I can't wait to get back on track tomorrow." while simultaneously shoving as many M&Ms in my mouth. I woke up truthfully relieved that it hadn't happened! Anywho, I am so happy I am taking the plunge and haven't cheated at all. It is all of the food I like and usually eat just minus a few (CHEESE!!!). I also have a group of friends that does tend to drink quite a bit so even the one weekend that I have succeeded at so far feels huge. This weekend is a champagne brunch hike... duh duh duhhhh. I am not going to give in. I love champagne and I know they are having breakfast burritos after. However, I am going to take my own breakfast and just drink my water through the hike! Overcoming these obstacles usually feels the best. The one struggle I am having is that I live in Taiwan and a lot of food is hard to find here. The vegetables are very uniform and don't switch very often and a lot of the specific lards, lara bars, epic bars, ghee etc. are very hard or impossible to find here. I am making due with what I have and it is going just fine! I could use some moral support though!
SharynF
It sounds like you are doing ok. A champagne hike sounds weird - ok for afterwards but water during surely, for everyone, not just you. I make my own ghee in a slow cooker as I haven't found a commercial one that tastes ok. I am in UK. Good luck and stay strong. P.S. I am approaching Day 50 and still strong!! nonnie4.0
I hope it is ok to chime in here... I am on my first whole30 day 6, going pretty good. Not really touching the time-line much though. Where I would usually wake with a headache, I have not had one in the past few days. I am missing my sweet tea though. I drink the heck out of ice water any way so I am managing with that well enough. As long as I don't give much thought to it. My go to is eggs and avocado in the morning but I have been adding sweet potatoes to it lately. For lunch I have leftovers from dinner, for dinner I eat a protein, avocado, and veggies or salad. I do have fruit sometimes. I am getting ready to make my own Ghee and mayo. If you can find unsalted butter, you can make Ghee pretty easy. I don't worry too much about using grass fed or organic, it is just way out of my budget.

I only use ghee in savoury recipes so a bit of salt does no harm.
