headache nausea and tired

Recommended Posts

Well I am on day 2 of the whole 30 and was a devoted diet coke drinker prior to starting. Like a 6 pack a day plus. I know caffeine withdrawal will cause headaches and I saw tired comes on the timeline. Why the nausea? Aspirin hasn't helped the headaches. Any idea how long this will last or any recommendations on how to alleviate some of these symptoms would be appreciated.

Yesterday I ate 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast, a spinach salad with a half can of tuna for lunch and a chicken breast stuffed with guac and a side of Brussels for dinner. I drank 100 ounces of water. This morning I had a sweet potato with a little almond butter and 16 ounces of water so far....

Yeah, you're not eating enough.

When eggs are the only source of protein in a meal you should be eating the number of whole eggs you can hold in one hand. That's usually 3-4 eggs for most females. Then you want to be adding 1-3 cups of veg to that, with 3 being optimum, plus your fat.

You'd need to eat a bucket full of spinach for that to be enough at lunch - consider how much it reduces down when chewed/wilted - and a whole can of tuna would be closer to the mark in terms of protein. Again, there's no fat.

Your dinner sounds better.

Breakfast this morning was missing protein entirely (almond butter is a fat source for whole30 purposes).

Take another look at the meal template and ensure each of your meals mirror that and you'll soon start to feel much better.

If you've come from a background of calorie counting/restriction it might be worth leaving your baggage at the door - under-eating is counter productive and will most definitely skew your results here.

Water wise 100 ounces is good if you weigh around 200 pounds - if you weigh less then you're doing great on that front & keep it up.

Hope this helps!
