Herbal Tea?

Recommended Posts

I thought I was complaint as the shopping list indicates all tea. I just noticed the herbal tea I have contains soy and sulphites??? I has my 1st cup on day 8, 1 on day 9 and 1 on day 10. Today is day 11 and I was getting ready to have a cup and just happen to look at ingredients, which I honestly hadn't before because it said all Tea on the shopping list. Oh no!! Why would herbal tea have these and should I restart?

Read this article to help you decide whether or not to start over.

For anything, you must read ingredients. When the shopping list says all teas, it means in general that tea is okay, but it's still your responsibility to make sure a particular tea doesn't contain any ingredient that's not allowed. Same for almonds, or frozen or canned vegetables, or even meats (which may have broth or other solution added to make them more moist, and those can contain soy or other off-plan ingredients, even if you think you're just buying raw meat).

I had no idea that herbal tea had anything other than herbal tea until I joined the forum on day 8 or so. I drink a LOT of it. I tore through my cabinets and fortunately discovered that all of mine are, in fact, just herbal tea. Phew. I buy so few packaged foods and thought I was good at ingredient lists. But somethings you just assume! Can't do that here!

I feel that because I do have digestive issues that I should restart. So..from Day 11 to Day 1!! lol

I am ok with that though because the real reason I started this was to figure out what is going on with my body (and to hopefully lose a couple pounds).

I will be checking ALL labels from here on out!!  :)

Good for you!  What a great attitude!  You're doing this FOR you, so doing it the best possible is only an investment in YOU which is never a waste!
