No bad effects

Recommended Posts

I'm only on day 4 of the whole30, but I was expecting all of these negative feelings - headache, hunger pains, etc. - and I haven't. I think I'm doing everything right, but is it strange to feel none of those crazy feelings that they describe in the first few days? I ate a lot of bread, and A LOT of dairy in my diet, and almost never had a breakfast before so I expected more of a negative change before I got to the positives. Now I'm doubting that I'm doing it right because I feel the same, if not better already.

Not everyone experiences the same things, some people don't have the negative stuff at the beginning. Don't worry too much about it.

If you are really concerned if you're doing things right, you can post what you've been eating for the last day or two, including approximate portion sizes, water intake, and exercise, and we can see if it looks like you're on the right track.

Thanks for posting this I am on day 3 and feel fine.  I ate really carb heavy breakfasts (waffles pancakes syrup)  now I am having 2 egg muffins with sweet potatoes( about 2 tlbs of potatos).  I am also worried I am not doing this right.  I even seem to need less caffeine.  Cravings havent been bad so far either.  I am sort of waiting for the bad effects to start.

How many eggs are in your egg muffins? Is there some other protein as well? When eggs are your only protein in a meal, have as many whole eggs as you can hold in your hand -- probably 3-4 for most people, maybe more. Aim for 1-3 cups of vegetables at every meal. And don't forget to add some fat -- olives, avocado, or a big dollop of mayo would go well with egg muffins.

Thanks Shannon,

I am having 2 muffins that contain about 1 egg, some sausage and spinach and sweet potato plus a little ghee.   I do think I need to up what I am eating in the morning I was starving by lunch.  I am surprised at how much veg I need to buy and prepare I have run out.  Lunch was 2 poached eggs, sauteed kale and spinach and a small roasted potato.  Typing this out I see I need to drastically increase the ammount of veg I am eating.
