Raven
First thought as I type this...I want some bacon with my eggs and kale. Note to self: Buy some US Wellness Meats bacon. Day 1 Tired. Tired of being tired. Breakfast: -3 jumbo eggs fried in coconut oil with pink Himalayan salt -bed of wilted kale with Celtic grey sea salt and ghee -a tangerine thing (not a tangerine, not an orange...) -bone broth -SFH fish oil with D3 I probably won't end up posting all my meals, but will when I can. I struggle with not eating enough when on W30, especially not eating enough vegetables. This will be my focus this go around. That, and completing the entire 100 days! P.S. I'm doing this W100 in the 100 days leading up to my 30th birthday. I want the next decade to be one of health, as the previous decade has been filled with a lot of self destruction (though I've learned how to love myself more too!). Raven
Day 4 Things are going ok so far. Bad -already tired of cooking -had a mayo making attempt fail -tired of waking up early to cook Good -waking up early (woke up yesterday 1.5 hours earlier than expected) -made pad thai from Well Fed -I currently feel that I'm committed to this for the whole 100 days and that I'm going to complete it -some bloat around my middle has already gone down I'm not sure which category to put this in, but I'm starting to think I have a sensitivity to eggs, nuts/seeds, and avocados (I make my mayo with avocado oil and eating avocado sometimes makes me nauseated). Today's M1 -tuna salad -zucchini and yellow squash sautéed in ghee with gray salt -tangerine thing -bone broth -SFH fish oil with D3 -forkful of sauerkraut
Raven
Day 5 Still on the hunt for the right magnesium supplement to take and am considering a collagen one as well. I currently take Natural Calm, but can't take it everyday without experiencing GI problems. I have been drinking bone broth everyday, so I'm sure that is helping with both. Sometimes when I eat a W30 meal, I notice that I have more energy after eating (instead of going into a food coma!). This happened yesterday when I took my dog to the park after dinner, and I was able to run around with him. It was amazing!
Raven
Day 7 Definitely almost caved into junk food a couple days ago. Luckily, I didn't and had support from my bf. I think the only reason it didn't happen though was because I got too tired and just ended up going to bed. I'm still struggling to eat enough and make food. My work schedule has been a bit crazy and all I want to do is get some good sleep.
KandyS
Wow, a whole 100! I'm on day 11 of my second whole 30 now. I love your idea of doing this in the 100 days leading up to your 30th birthday. I'm also 29 and I've had to deal with a lot of difficult things in my twenties....but I don't want to have the attitude that I'm just getting older....blah blah blah, but instead do everything I can to be stronger and healthier as I go into my thirties and beyond! You can do this, Raven! Just keep remembering your goals when you are faced with temptation!!!

I definitely don't feel that I'm getting older, but know that staying young involves eating well. I appreciate the support! Good luck with your second W30! Raven
Day 9 Yesterday I went to a new park with my bf and dog. We had an awesome woods walk and about an hour afterward, I felt really good! Better than I've felt in a long time! For dinner we made the blueberry ginger glazed scallops and the perfect grilled shrimp (minus the oregano, because we didn't have any) from the Whole30 book. The scallops were pretty good, but the shrimp was amazing!
Raven
Day 11 One tenth of the way there! Only need to do this nine more times! Easy peasy! Here are my some of my victories from the first 10 days... -Over the weekend my bf took me and my dog to a park we've never been to before. There were a lot of hills and it was a bit of a struggle walking through the woods, BUT about an hour or so afterward, I felt GREAT! Like better than I've felt in a long time! Not just physically, but mentally. -Then, when I went to bed that night, I felt like I was going to sleep really well (even though it was 10:30 and I had to be up at 5:00) and I got that really good feeling of warm, contented sleepiness as I drifted off. -My blood sugar has been a lot more stable. It'll still feel low when I haven't eaten for awhile, but it doesn't feel like a crash is coming and I can go for longer without having to eat. I haven't even needed an emergency Epic bar in a few days! -When I woke up that next morning at 5:00, I felt tired, but throughout the day at work, I didn't feel worn down. And I definitely felt that I had more than six hours of sleep! Also, one thing of note: I'm looking at this in a different way than past W30s. I'm viewing it as just an elimination diet more than a W30. I'm following the rules, but am not beating myself up for not following the recommendations (getting to bed on time, eating 1-3 cups of vegetables at each meal). This is taking A LOT of the mental pressure off. I feel that as I progress, I will be able to tweak things and focus more on what I want to improve in regards to following the W30 recommendations. Raven
Wanted to add some meal pictures for a bit of color! 1) Halibut with Citrus-Ginger Glaze, Cauliflower Rice, and Green [and Red] Cabbage Slaw from the Whole30 book 2) Melissa Joulwan's pad thai 3) No-Fuss Salmon Cakes from the Whole30 book (I think I like the ISWF version better) 4) Perfect Grilled Shrimp and bay scallops with Ginger-Blueberry Sauce from the Whole30 book, grilled potatoes with garlic and chives, and salad with Tessemae's Limonette dressing Phew! I would just like to say that so far all the Whole30 book recipes I've tried have been legit. Some take a bit of prep work, but they're super simple and turn out wonderful! I made the Chicken Chowder recipe last night and that was amazing too! Also, my bf who loves pretty much all food, but generally eats the SAD, has loved everything as well! Raven
Day 13 So I am on day two of four 4:30am wake up calls in a row. I don't know how people do this five days a week! It's been tough getting to bed at a decent hour as the sun sets later and later. I'm starting to feel my depression creeping back, but am trying my best to hold it back (eating well, getting outside, taking magnesium and my fish oil with D3). Digestion still working things out. youngann
I'm impressed that you're doing w100. I'm on day 6 of w30 and, as of right now, I'd love to stay on it longer than 30 days. However, I figured 30 days I could do, I can always extend that at the end, right?

How did your extended Whole30 go?/How is it currently going? lol
