Day 2 - the poptart scent in the cube next to me is making me hungry

So, this is day 2 for me. Yesterday went really well, once I got over the mishap with my coconut milk...I wrote about this one yesterday - did you know you shouldn't refrigerate that? :)

I had a crazy dream last night where I drank an entire gallon of whole milk. I woke up this morning very sad cause I thought I'd have to start over haha. Now someone is cooking some poptarts somewhere in the vicinity of my cube at work and they smell heavenly.

BUT, I'm not going to cave. I started this journey as a way to address my Rheumatoid Arthritis in a natural way - I know this isn't going to be an easy lifestyle change, but the others who have posted before me have provided so much hope. I know a ten second sugar rush is not worth it! Fortunately for all of us, we have a place to go and receive support from like-minded people. Thank you so much and best of luck to you all as we live a Whole30 day, just for today.

First, good on you for realizing the 10 sec sugar rush isn't worth it :)

And Oh, I can relate on food smells at work. My desk is right around the corner from the breakroom, so I get "treated" to all kinds of food smells. The first few days they did make me prone to feeling hungry, but as time has gone on they don't affect me the same. When a whiff of super-buttered microwave popcorn tickles my nose I just think, "Wow, that's a lot of chemicals."

While snacking is discouraged, I keep a few things in my desk just in case. Cashews, an apple, just in case. Better to have a compliant snack on hand than 1)"starving" until lunch or 2) going off track.

It takes a few days of playing with the protein/fat combo, but as you find your groove, that will really help quell the hungry feelings stirred up by food smells.

I know what you mean about the scent that can drive you crazy.

I went to my favorite health food store and immediately was overwhelmed by the smell of Popcorn.

It seems the Wednesday is Senior Citizen day and they always make fresh popcorn. It was all I could do to get my shopping done and leave before I gave in.
