MandyMoo5
Hello Whole30 community! I am eager to start my first Whole30 adventure on May 1st. I am a little nervous that I will want to eat all of the things, but I am happy that my husband is going to be joining me for the challenge. I am currently trying to plan out our first week. Reading through the Whole30 book has definitely been super helpful. Anyone else starting the same day? Any veterans of Whole30 who can offer some support or advice? Thanks! LorieB55
Hello! My husband and I completed a Whole30 on March 7. It's beyond great to have your spouse as your W30 partner! Make sure you buy more veggies than you usually do. A good variety will keep you from getting bored with your meals! Make sure you eat plenty at each meal, so you won't be tempted to snack. Plan ahead if you have to go to some celebration or event. You can't be sure there will be compliant choices there, might have to bring your own (found this out the hard way!). You can do this!We still don't have any bread, buns, or crackers in our house, and before Whole 30, we had some sort with every meal! Good luck!! Sharon_Frazee
I am starting May 1 too but my husband has no interest. He is pretty supportive though as long as I don't expect him to always eat the same thing. I have been cooking some things from the Whole30 book already and have a few recipes he really likes (the salmon patties are one of his favorites). I have Celiac disease so we have been eating different foods at the same meal, at least in part, for 30 years now. 30 days will be a piece of cake....ooops no cake
MandyMoo5
Congrats on finishing your Whole30 LorieB55! Thank you for the tips! More veggies will be a challenge for me as it's so hard not to buy a ton a fruit instead. I am in the process of creating a shopping list for our first week, and it is slightly overwhelming. I used the 7-day plan in the book but tweaked it a tad. It seems like my nights are going to be filled with a ton of prepping, but I assume you get quicker at it as the time passes? Hi Sharon_Frazzee! Good luck with your Whole30! Hopefully you'll just be cooking such yummy food that your husband will want to eat it too! I am looking forward to making the salmon patties - I was slightly skeptical of them when I first saw the recipe. I love your cake comment!
