On Day 3.. First timer & Feeling ill.... :(

Hi!! I'm new to this forum and the Whole30. I have been reading the book, so I do already know that feeling ill at this time is normal... BUT WOW!! TODAY I'm feeling it. Headache, nausea, diarrhea.... All happening today!! I do know that yesterday, I didn't drink as much water as I usually do... I try hard to take in a gallon of water everyday! Yesterday, I did have many cravings as well. I can't give up either, my 12yr old daughter is also doing this with me!! I want to keep her going and try to be positive so she can start to feel big changes!! UGH!! SOOOO HARD with nasty headache and nausea!! I might need a little positive influence my way about now.... How much longer do I have to deal with this? Is stomach issues also a part of the withdrawal?? SOS... HELP!! LOL!! :)

I moved your post to troubleshooting because I'm going to suggest you give us a rundown of what you've been eating so we can see if there's anything that needs tweaking.  Please include portions sizes as they relate to the template, specific protein, veg and fat per meal and if you have ongoing medical conditions and we can try and get you feeling better... It could just be detox but let's take a closer look.

So far here is what I've been eating:

 

Breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled with some spinach, potato's fried up in about 1TBLS of olive oil. Water & coffee with Coconut milk, no sugar added

 

Lunch: Steak salad, no dressing.. The place that made it had cheese & something else on it that I didn't know what it was, so I simply picked the lettuce out shook off the cheese & nuts of some sort and only ate the lettuce & steak (aprox. the size of my palm).

 

Snack: Apple with about 2TBLS of Almond butter

 

Dinner: Chicken breast (aprox. the size of my palm) dipped in egg & water, rolled in almond flour (nothing else is added, just almond), Snow peas, potato's boiled, just a little salt & pepper added to both for flavor....

 

I only drink water during the day, usually about a gallon... yesterday I only got in apox. 1/2 gallon.. I think this is what is causing my headache today. But I can't figure out the stomach thing. I just ate my breakfast & I'm feeling a bit better after drinking a liter of water so far.... Stomach seems ok right now... comes & goes!!

Your meals look reasonably okay actually... your lunch should have added fat but I imagine that it didn't because you ate out... that somewhat explains the snack in the afternoon.

Your breakfast does actually need more non starchy veggies... 'some spinach' is almost like 'none spinach' because by the time it cooks/chews down, it's almost nothing.

I imagine you didn't eat 3 cups of snow peas at dinner either so up that as well and add some fat... avocado or olives would have been good there!

 

I think you have a combination of detox and not eating/drinking enough... try taking another look at the template (linked in my sig below) and see if you can't match your meals to that and with the increase in water, you'll probably feel much better.

 

Water recommendation is 1/2oz per pound of bodyweight...

Yes, It's been a little hard for me the last 2 days... My husband is currently in the hospital & when I'm there visiting him, I've been finding it hard to find anything that I can eat there.... But I'm doing my best with what I have!! Today has been a little better with the nausea... I drank much more water & that did help. But I still have the headache's. 

 

Thank you for all of your suggestions, I will add more in!! :)
