Caitlyn_Bacon
I am starting this Saturday to get the hardest part (the weekend) out of the way first! I attempted a Whole30 back in the fall and made it three weeks before I gave into a mimosa at brunch from peer pressure of friends. I have been eating similar to the Whole30 guidelines since them and I finally feel mentally prepared to tackle a 100% committed round. I even enlisted my boyfriend to join me as we both do not have gallbladders and have some suspected food sensitivities. We just want to get to the root of the problem and start feeling better about ourselves by fueling our bodies with what makes us thrive! I am beyond excited to start and hear about others journeys along the way!
tmhampton1
Congrats for starting the program. I'll let you know some of my struggles as someone who not only also doesn't have a gallbladder, but also has some intestinal damage. make sure you don't drink too much water before and during meals. It will dilute the bile and could cause some bloating and discomfort. You might try playing around with amounts, but I don't drink more than 8 oz before (30 mins before) and then sip on water during. I had to take a digestive enzyme. I went 2 weeks and was really struggling, so I got the enzymes, and they have made a world of difference for me. So don't beat yourself up if you need them. Finally, I just can't eat large or multiple servings of starchy veggies. Again, they are just too difficult to digest. I follow the template and eat one fist sized serving a day and that has really turned around my bloating and other digestive issues.
