Celebrate the wins

This is day 3 of my first Whole30. I'm not known for having strong will power, I usually cheat my way through calorie controlled diets and end up feeling like a failure. I'm determined to change my will power so today I'm celebrating a win.

I have a catering company and today I made 500 pieces of sweet food (my biggest weakness). I resisted the temptation to taste anything - I didn't even lick my fingers once! So proud of myself for staying strong - feeling empowered for day four!

Today is day 5. I woke last night with a monster headache and it's lingering today. Trying hard to stay focused and not feed my sugar dragon.

The wins: I'm loving all of the food I am eating! Tried coconut milk in my coffee this morning and it was much nicer than I expected! Really proud of myself for having no sugar for 4+ days now!

Hey Bec76

I've merged your two threads together so as you can keep all your updates in the one place.... It makes it easier for you to look back on, and for the mods to take a quick peek if you're in need of any trouble-shooting!  :)

I've just completed day 9 and I'm feeling pretty good. I definitely have more energy but I'm bloated and have the skin of a teenager - I haven't had a pimple in years - is this happening to anyone else?

I have definitely been eating more coconut oil & milk as well as a few more seeds/nuts than I was 10 days ago. I'm not too concerned, I'm sure it will settle down again. It's all a learning curve for me. Trying to find the right balance of protein, fat and then volume to make sure I'm not hungry between meals.

I understand now why so many people slip up on day 10. I'm desperate for a sweet treat tonight! Baking apple crumble and gingerbread this afternoon with my girls hasn't helped at all!

I'm going to stay the course. Make myself a licorice tea and watch some tv to distract myself.

coconut oil is rarely problematic, but nuts are notorious for skin break outs & digestive distress. Coconut milk can cause bloating in some, but the lining of cans of certain types of coconut milk contain BPA - which is highly toxic, leaches on to the fat in the milk and has been attributed to skin break outs in the past.

Oh man I'm not feeling like I'm winning today. My sugar cravings are back and I struggled all day to stay faithful.

I've read that this can happen so I'm not worried, but I'm definitely looking forward to them disappearing again.

I was feeling amazing a couple of days ago - bring that back on!!

Time to relax with a herbal tea and an episode of Masterchef. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
