Day 9 - really hard time waking up

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I'm on Day 9 (YAY!) and I'm having a really rough time waking up in the morning. Like a REALLY hard time. My husband woke up 2 hours before me, went to the gym, took a shower, got ready, one child was up and running around and I literally heard nothing until my husband came in to wake me (at that point I felt like I got hit by a mack truck). It was so hard to get my act together. I feel great now! My days are good. I feel energized, I feel good. I'm not super tired at night (we are hitting the hay pretty early, between 9:30 and 10:30) and today my husband woke me at 7:15.

Any advice would be great. I wonder if I'm not eating enough (it feels like I'm eating too much) but maybe I'm snacking too much. I'm definitely doing something wrong...or maybe i just need to get through this and will feel better soon. Feel free to comment with advice or to commiserate!

Thanks in advance :)

It's hard to say if you're eating enough or too much or just right without knowing what it is... you can post your meals including portion sizes, specific veggies, meal timing and water intake if you like and we can see if there's anything that stands out.

It's possible that you're still in the 'exhaustion' phase and your body just needs the rest... especially if you are sleeping through an earthquake without hearing a thing...

If you think about it, 10:30 to 7:15 is really just under 9 hours. And that's only if you fell asleep the second your head hit the pillow. I agree that you might just be catching up or setting a groove. I go to bed at 8 to be up at 5 during the week and on most weekends and while it seems like a lot that's really only 9 hours and it can take me a bit to actually fall asleep.

I felt super sick last night, horrible stomach ache. Woke up today feeling great! Maybe I'm just over a hump. Days 8-9 according to the timeline are pretty tough. I'm really hoping I'm just on my way to feeling better. Fingers crossed!!! Thank you!

  • 3 weeks later...

Thanks for posting this. I'm on day 9 today and since day 4 or so have been really struggling to wake up (sleeping through my alarms, hitting snooze, and eventually running late to work). It is nice to see that I'm not the only one who has struggled with waking up at the beginning! I'm hoping that this will pass; it sounds like it passed for you!
