Hello!

I am starting on this a little late... I am currently starting Day 6 of Whole30. Just found this on the website and decided to give it a try. I'm going to post my progress up until today.

Day 1 - May 5th

Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs, Half Avocado, Strawberries

Lunch: Spinach and Kale Salad, Hard Boiled Egg, Lemon Juice, Carrots, and half avacodo

Dinner: Grilled Rockfish (That I caught myself in MD) :) with okra and a side spinach and kale salad.

Day 2- May 6th

Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs, Half Avocado, and Strawberries

Lunch: Spinach and Kale Salad, Strawberries, Avacodo, Carrots, Chia Seeds and Lemon Juice

 Hot Yoga Class- 1 Hour

Dinner: Grilled Chicken Lettuce wraps w/ guacamole, okra, and plantains (From whole30 Instagram plantain recipe)

Woke up with major neck pain that I have been suffering with. Gave me a headache for most of the day. Still went to hot yoga and felt a lot better after the class and a visit to the chiro. No major side effects because I had already eliminated most sugar from my diet before I started.

Day 3- May 7th

Woke up feeling great. Had a Lara Bar before taking a 1 hour long barre class at 8am.

Breakfast: Spinach & Tomato Frittata (Whole30 Recipe Book)

Lunch:  Had to go eat out with the in-laws. Ate a big breakfast before so I wouldn't be hungry. Ended up ordering a salad and picking at it bc it had no substance. Didn't really count this as "lunch." Came home and ate a Spinach and Kale Salad with Avocado, Strawberries, Blueberries, Chia Seeds and Lime Juice.

Dinner: Sweet Potato Bun Turkey Burger with guacamole and spinach. Side of grilled squash and zucchini.

Late Snack: Came back from a movie late and was hungry so I had a few carrots and then went to bed.

Day 4- May 8th (Mother's Day)

Breakfast: Spinach, leftover sweet potatoes, mixed in the frittata. With watermelon on the side.

Lunch:  Met my family for a big lunch/ dinner get together with every kind of yummy southern home cooked food you could imagine. Packed my husband and I lunch so we wouldn't be tempted. Had a spinach and kale salad with grilled chicken, hard boil eggs, carrots, chia seeds, and homemade dressing from whole30.

Afternoon Snack:  Was trying to avoid snacking, but with everyone eating chocolate cake and banana pudding around me I had to grab a Lara Bar to munch on and my chicken at lunch wasn't big enough.

Dinner: Still with the family and they now are eating leftovers. The smell makes it hard to eat my Grilled Chicken, Okra, and Carrots that I brought along, but I do so without killing anyone or caving in!

Day 5- May 9th

Woke up feeling extremely tired and was pretty tired throughout the day. Haven't experienced any major side effects like the book predicts until today. Still went to my hot yoga class and was tired through it and almost fell asleep in the beginning of class child's pose. Ended up getting extremely dizzy as well. It was hotter than usual in the class and I had drank 48 ounces of water before the class, so I read in whole30 and I think I'm not getting enough carbs. Going to try and bring in some more carbs on day 6.

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs and strawberries.

Lunch: Kale and Spinach Salad with avocado, strawberries, and chia seeds.

Hot Yoga Class- 1 Hour

Dinner: Leftover Turkey Burger w/ Sweet potato buns, guac, and spinach. Side of carrots and strawberries. Was STARVING after yoga and couldn't get enough to eat.

Day 5 has been the hardest so far... I forgot to write that in addition to me being exhausted all I could think about all day was FOOD. And not healthy Whole30 approved food. I was craving everything under the sun. In hot yoga all I could think about was sesame chicken!  :o Completely unlike me. I'm ready for my mind to not constantly be thinking about junk food (that I normally don't even eat that often) Today is day 6 and it's been better so far, but I had to push back the eggs this morning for breakfast because they are starting to get old....

Day 6

Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs, handful of blueberries, and guacamole.

Chiro and Deep Tissues Massage. I suffer with lower back pain, neck pain, and migraines. Had a deep tissue massage to help alleviate my tight muscles from my workout classes that I attend 5-6 times a week.

Lunch: Spinach and Kale Salad with chia seeds and avocado. Sweet Potato.

Pre- Workout Snack: Hard Boiled Egg

1 hour hot yoga/ circuit training mixed in: Had no energy to get through the class. I could barely lift my hands up. Was absolutely exhausted so I have decided to take a break from my workout classes for a few days and hopefully get my energy back.

Post Workout Snack: Half an RX Bar (While making dinner)

Dinner: Grilled chicken, broccoli, and squash. ***Didn't finish my dinner due to lack of appetite.

I can't believe I'm already on day 7! Yesterday, I was exhausted, but I've decided to give my body a break with the intense workouts for a few days. I woke up this morning (Day 7) completely exhausted, which was a bummer. However, I'm already telling a difference in the mirror! I also haven't had migraines or heartburn since I started, which is something I often suffer with. Excited to get my energy back!

P.S I'm SUPER nervous because I have to got out to eat the next two nights for birthdays and such... Hoping it won't be a huge hassle and won't be a major issue!

Welcome Morgan!  If you are taking Hot Yoga (I used to alot, so I know what it feels like), then you need to make sure you are getting in a Post-WO snack. I see you started that on Day 6 - great :)  Then make sure your getting enough starchy veggies, salt, and potassium.  Great job - I can't imagine keeping up that fitness level during the beginning of W30 - you rock!

That massage sounds sooo good.  I may book one as a reward when I finish!  Good luck while eating out tomorrow - you can do it!

Thank you! I was trying to keep my workout schedule up, but decided to take a few days off so I can recover from being so tired! I'm already starting to feel more energized. Thank you for the advice! I'm trying to eat more veggies in my meals...it's so easy to eat TOO much fruit and not enough veggies and that's what I end up struggling with. You should definitely book a massage! It felt amazing!

Day 7

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, half avocado, strawberries, and a banana.

Lunch: Grilled Chicken Spinach and Kale Salad with half avocado, chia seeds, carrots, and a side of watermelon.

Afternoon Snack: Had to go out to eat for a late dinner and was really hungry so I ate a RX Bar.

Dinner: Went out to eat and successfully made it through my first official dining out experience! I had a "health nut salad," With Salmon, Spinach, Nuts, Bananas, Cantaloupe, Craisons, and a champagne lemon dressing with whole30 approved ingredients. :)

Late Snack: Was at my husbands hockey game until late so I need a snack and had half an RX bar. Had an allergic reaction the the almonds that were in it, so unfortunately I think those are out for me

All together, Day 7 was really good! I'm starting to feel more energy and I'm not experiencing cravings anymore, which really is AMAZING! :) I know I didn't get all the veggies that I need in today with eating out, but hopefully the massive amount of spinach I ate makes up for it. I'm going to try and eat more veggies today if possible (I have to eat out again tonight)

Today is DAY 15! I'm HALF way to the finish line! I haven't been posting my food every day because I have been busy, but I've been trying to focus on making sure I have enough veggies. :D I'm feeling GREAT! Last night in my hot yoga class I was able to push myself harder than ever before and even got into some new poses that I had never been able to do before!  Definitely starting to feel the Tiger Blood and I'm super pumped about it! I can also tell a difference in the mirror, which is also a nice bonus!
