loubdoo99
I've been craving a cold soda/fizzy drink and discovered http://www.mangajo.co.uk/ Ingredients list is: Water, Fruit Juice, green tea infusion, citric acid and natural flavours. Can I drink it? Thanks L
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 11, 2016 This is technically compliant if it's lightly flavored water... if it's basically juice with fizz, then no, drinking juice is not allowed..
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted May 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 11, 2016 This is technically okay. I would caution that fruit juice is really not something you want to be drinking a lot of, it's really allowed more to use in recipes like sauces or dressings where you might want just a hint of sweetness. If these have very much in them, they're not an ideal thing to drink. Plus, if they have enough to taste sweet, they may keep your craving for sweet things going. If you're wanting fizzy drinks, you could try fizzy water with a little lemon or lime in it, or kombucha if you can find a compliant variety where you are, or flavored fizzy waters like La Croix where there's really not juice in them, just a hint of fruit flavor. Moderators Tom Denham Posted May 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 11, 2016 I've been craving a cold soda/fizzy drink... Your cravings are a poor guide to planning what you should eat and drink. During the Whole30, we encourage you to eat plates of meat and veggies and to drink water. Further, we recommend starving cravings and never feeding them. So whether the drink you found is compliant or not, you should not drink it.
loubdoo99
Thanks for the replies. I am in the UK so compliant drinks like LaCroix are hard to find. I've mostly been sticking to water/sparkling water it but wanted a change. Ah well no Manjago for me

Maybe some herbs? Maybe even frozen berries instead of ice cubes?) and it turns out super refreshing and just different enough. I've more or less stopped drinking sodas anyway but I love sparkling water. It took me a while to get used to it but once I did, i started using it as my "fancy" drink.
