rosen.willow
Hiya, I'm on Day 19 and have had a pretty ok time so far. I didn't experience much of the timeline at all, except some extra sleeping every once in awhile. I'm not having huge cravings. Occasionally I'm bummed when I go out and am not eating something, but that's it. My two nonscale victories so far are : not hungry between meals/no "must-eat-now" moments and no stomach aches (I usually get minor stomach aches somewhat frequently). But ... besides that ... nothing?! I'm not sure why? I don't feel great or bad; I just feel the same. And a little more tired in the mornings. Here's what I'm eating in case that's relevant ... Breakfast: quiche-ish thing with ~2.5 eggs and a TON of veggies (spinach, butternut squash, onion, mushrooms) and a bit of coconut milk. Tea w/ a bit of coconut milk. Lunch: tuna (palm sized or a bit more) with a bit of avo mixed in, random roasted veggies (cauliflower, sweet potato, asparagus, etc), spinach, ~half an avo, sometimes half a banana with almond butter or some grapes Dinner: no-fuss salmon burger, more of the roasted veggies and spinach (or for awhile I was having that cabbage salad with lemon juice), small amount of fruit, more avo. Sometimes I have a snack of hard boiled egg. Larabar every 3ish days in a travel situation (like last night I went out to dinner at a place where I knew I needed to bring my own protein and fat, so I ate their veggies, my salmon burger and larabar). Any thoughts? Thanks!
tmhampton1
Do you really not have any other NSVs? Not sleeping better, not clearer skin, no missing arthritis pain? Did you go through the list in the book and check which ones you may/may not be having? I know for me, I'm 42, I've been eating horribly for so long that I don't believe 30 days will do what I really want it to do so I will continue but I did have quite a few NSVs that I just didn't recognize until I read the list. Also, are your meals keeping you full for the 4-5 hours, they look a little light to me.
rosen.willow
I re-read the list of NSV - thanks for the push ... I definitely have several of the "fewer cravings" and not hungry between meals and generally feeling in control of food. But ... I really don't have any of the sleep / energy / mood ones, nor anything physical as far as I can tell. I'm not trying to complain, more wondering if I'm doing something wrong / get motivation to keep going despite not a lot of results. Also, I came to this from a pretty ok place (cooking mostly from scratch, eating overnight oats for breakfast, legumes/veggies/brown rice for lunch and dinner, a fair amount of dark chocolate and occasional treats, occasional toast / bread, etc). And working out on average 4 times a week. Maybe that matters?
Chachers04
I've been a healthy eater for the past few years, and when I did my 1st W30 last summer I had almost the same NSV's as you. I was VERY happy to find that I no longer get "hangry" from blood sugar spikes and drops, but honestly that was about it. Also, it helped me be more aware of reading labels, and putting together appropriately sized and proportioned meals.
BamaRama
That's a great point! I'm only on day 10 and I definitely knew how to eat clean and balance my macros before this, but so far I've only noticed the lack of "hangry" in the past few days, and I was all bummed that I haven't noticed anything yet but that in itself is a big NSV,and I should be acknowledging it for what it is - an awesome plus lol.
