hillo7
Okay I'm on Day 11 and finally getting the hang of this. Still bloated and learned a lot about what I can't eat (even on this program). But I'm still nursing my 13 month old twins and I've noticed they both want to eat more often? I feel like I eat when I'm hungry and was also snacking/grazing in between. I know snacking isn't permitted but I just felt so hungry. I'd eat meals until I was full and then I'd be hungry soon after. I'm totally eating enough and still feel like I don't have much milk. I just started to add second breakfast (like a hobbit lol) and it's sort of helping ease my hunger. Am I crazy or are there any other twin mommies feel this way? Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2016 What does 'totally eating enough' mean? Can you post a few days of your typical intake including meal timing, portions, specific veggies, protein and fat... Breastfeeding requires significant additional fuel than someone who is not breastfeeding and breastfeeding twins would be an increase over that too... hillo7
Well by totally eating enough I meant I'm filling my plate up to the rim (literally) with the equal template of meat, veggies and fruits. I've felt like I've been over eating almost with the the amounts I have been eating. Before this I never ate this much. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes, onions, potatoes, bananas, avocados, melons, apples, berries, grass fed beef, uncured turkey and pork bacon, and chicken. I also was consuming a lot of cashews and almonds but have been reading that they are probably the reason I'm bloating since they are bad on our stomachs. I eat breakfast normally a 30 minutes to an hour after I wake up after I oil pull, lunch is normally 3 hours later and then dinner is normally 5 hours later. Between then I would eat a fruit and some nuts to hold over. I drink a half gallon to a gallon of water and HIT everyday for 30 minutes. But I either feel like I'm cooking, eating, working out or chasing the kids lol.
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2016 Hey there; The way you've listed your food is really difficult for us to tell how much you're eating... When one is breastfeeding, we expect them to eat approximately 4 template meals (or three with two mini meals, at least). Snacking on fruit and nuts is doing you no favors to 'hold you over'. It raises and then crashes your blood sugar... protein and fat are your friends here between meals, ideally with veggies too if you can manage. 1/2 gallon of water is good for someone that is not breastfeeding and weighs 128 pounds. Breastfeeding women are often encouraged to drink coconut milk straight from the can, and to eat whole avocados and handfuls of olives to keep the fats up, which in turn, along with water consumption, keep your milk production strong. The fact that you're saying you're hungry, you need to snack and that your milk production is low tells me that you're not eating enough unfortunately... it may SEEM like you're eating a lot but you're keeping two additional people alive with your body/your food/your fuel... Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2016 Also, you say you're filling your plate with meat, veggies and fruit... where's the fat? Have taken a look at the template recently? Especially for people breastfeeding, you need fat... lots and lots of fat
