tracysparrow
Hello! Day 3 of my first whole30 and going strong! Today I went to Whole Foods to buy ghee and coconut aminos and some healthy (expensive) meets. No regrets! While perusing the produce area, I found myself putting a couple of yams in my basket. I have never liked sweet potatoes, but since they are legal, I thought I would give it a shot and try to make them as savory as possible. When I got home, I googled and realized that yams are different then sweet potatoes. Are they legal? And if yes, does anyone know a yummy way to prepare them whole30 style? Thanks in advance! kb0426
I cook them the same way I cook sweet potatoes. I can never tell which is which! I like them roasted; sometimes I cut into wedges, sometimes I slice. I toss with coconut oil and season with salt, pepper and sometimes a little kick of cayenne. 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes, turning them a couple of times. I must say, simply baked with some ghee they are quite delicious!
