cherylm
I'm starting my first Whole 30 today. I've read the books and stocked the fridge with organic eggs, meat and produce. My husband is not playing along so the kitchen still has lots of non-complaint foods. I'll just have to ignore them. I don't have a terrible diet; I generally eat low carb-ish but I'm giving up coffee (I only like it with milk), dairy and sweeteners (my Diet Coke ). Iced tea is my new best friend. My main motivations are better sleep and more energy. I'm sure I'll be spending lots of time on here looking for encouragement.
twilsonorr
Good luck-it is totally worth it from an energy and feeling better standpoint. I am restarting today myself :-) This is my 2nd. I am not an expert by any stretch, but let me know if you have any questions. My family is not compliant either-so it is a bit of a minefield. khillmiller
My first day too! (See my intro post.) We can do this! I love the paragraph on the website that starts something like "This isn't hard......". It sort of took the wind out of my whiney sails. I HAVE done a lot of hard things...this is just food choices for just 30 days. My husband is quick to tell me why any diet/lifestyle plan won't work for him. He actually likes the ideas of meat veggies and fruits, but tells me he can't give up milk and bread. That's fine I tell him...Don't! I'll buy/cook the meat/veggies/fruits and he can add on the rest for himself. He seems ok with that. Now, I've just got avert my eyes from his boxes of graham crackers and chocolate covered fruits during the big noshing time (after dinner.) So far I've had 5 waking hours "on-plan" and am doing just fine. How about you? Karen
