Fanski2016
Today is my first day for many things: paleo in general, the whole30, writing and sharing on a forum... it does feel somewhat weird, but this whole program is about giving everything a chance to change our lifes for good, right? I have been dieting for as long as I can remember, and my weight has been literally all over the place. I celebrate and comfort every emotion with food, and I enjoy every food I can get my hands on... healthy or unhealthy. I don't expect the whole30 to be physically harder than many other diets I have actually followed... now, it scares me that it does seem like a mentally tasking diet... I started mywhole30 this morning and I gotta say that my breakfast was delicious and I cannot even describe how full I was after eating it. Those are the "good news". "Bad news" are that I decided not to get on the scale or take pictures at all. I don't know if this is a bad thing necessarily, but I do dictate my daily mood on that number and I didn't want to start my whole30 feeling bad about myself. What do you think? Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and try this forum out (i'll take all of the help I can get to make this change!)
augyz
Good Luck. You will be amazed. I never went on diet before trying the Whole30 program. I started it as my wife wanted to try it and as a type 1 diabetic seemed like it would help me. The results have been truly amazing. My sugar levels are perfect, my heartburn is gone and I lost over 10 pounds. The best part is that I am only on Day 25. I hope it goes just as well for you. OncoWarrior
Hello Fanski, I am new here today, also. You asked what we think about your choice not to weigh in or take photos, as you feel it is a factor in your daily mood. If I remember correctly, the "rules" are that we should not be weighing ourselves (or measuring, too, I think) DURING the 30 days. So, maybe taking a start weight and photos would not be all that bad. Then you should not do it again until the end. Then you will have Before and After weight and photos to celebrate your accomplishment. But I would like to ask this: can you find a replacement for that number business? As you said, "I do dictate my daily mood on that number". Besides being alive for another day, can you find something else in your early morning time for which you are thankful? Maybe that would be a helpful daily mood setter. Just a suggestion. Here I am posting, but now I have to "introduce" myself. I think that means starting a new topic, because I did not find a place readily available for me to write something. And away I go . . . . . . Good luck to both of us.
