Lhannans
I about to to take a probiotic that contains Vegetable Cellulose. Is thus a type of sugar? Cellulose is not listed on the "Sneaky Sugars List" Please help!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted May 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 20, 2016 Vegetable cellulose is not a problem. However, maybe you should tell us all the ingredients.
Lhannans
Thanks for responding; the only ingredients are the vegetable cellulose and egg. For Some reason I was thinking it might be a sugar."Raw Probitics for women". I am on Day 15; will start probiotics tonight; thanks!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted May 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 20, 2016 Are you talking about the Garden of Life brand ones? Some of those contain yogurt. You need to read all the ingredients, which will definitely be more than cellulose and egg.
Lhannans
All Ingredients: Vegetable Cellulose and Egg(nothing else): Garden of Life RAW Probiotics 50 Billion for Woman - Vaginal Care is the brand Unable to post a snapshot of the bottle
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted May 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 20, 2016 It looks like that's this product, right? At that link, if you scroll down and click on Supplement Facts, all the stuff listed there is ingredients in that product. It definitely contains yogurt, which is dairy, which means this is not okay during your Whole30.
laura_juggles
Lhannas, you're just listing the "other ingredients". Listed higher up on the bottle/box is lists "Vaginal Care Blend 50 Billion CFU" and then a ton of little italicized ingredients underneath. One of them is a yogurt concentrate, so that means it contains dairy. I'm more than a little surprised that I can't seem to find an allergy statement on the internet saying it contains dairy. But the yogurt's definitely in there.
