StacyG317
Day 31! It feels great! My husband and I set out to do the whole 30 because we needed a change. We just got married on March 17th of this year and spent 11 beautiful days on a tropical island for our destination wedding/honeymoon. We ate and drank EVERYTHING! Like a lot....so... much... rum! We came home and felt like blobs! We have always eaten pretty healthy but needed something to whip us back into shape! I saw a friend on FB that was posting about Whole30 so I asked her about it. We started our Whole30 journey on April 24th and are so glad we did. Before we started I bought the Whole30 book and read it cover to cover so I knew exactly what we needed to do. Each week I planned out every single meal we ate and meal prepped every Sunday. "Failing to plan is planning to fail" I always say! I am a natural born planner, so that was ok for me! I was so serious about doing this "perfectly" with no slips and no cheats, I even made my husband sign a contract!! Yes, a contract. I typed up something and we both signed it. We were super committed and the results show! So I know that it's not all about weight loss, but seeing the number move down on the scale is very nice. Here are mine and my husbands results for our 30 day (not exercising very much) Stacy Athletic Build 5'3" started at 183 lbs: 8 total pounds lost 6.75 total inches lost Kyle Athletic Build 6'2" started at 235 lbs: 6.8 total pounds lost 4.25 total inches lost. I also want to point out that my husband is planning on joining the Airforce in the near future and needed to get his body fat down. He started around 25% body fat and is now at 19.5%!!!!!!! It's amazing how much fat he shredded just by doing this program! Some NSV that we have both experienced are: Glowing skin (friends are even commenting! Flatter stomach Leaner appearance Clothes fitting better Wedding ring fitting better Less Bloating Feeling more confident Happier Less anxious Less stressed Fewer sugar cravings Feeling in control of your food Healthier relationship with food Learned how to read food labels No longer a slave to sugar and carbs More nutrition in your diet The list is truly endless! I just names a few of the best ones! We are so happy that we have done the Whole30. We are currently in the reintroduction stage. We have chosen to only reintroduce Gluten, non-gluten, and alcohol. I ate a pancake for breakfast, it was weird! Not having one in so long... not sure how I feel about it. We will see how it goes! We are not interested in doing Dairy or Legumes at the moment. My 30th Birthday is next week, so after that I plan on doing another Whole30 to continue this amazing feeling I have. If you are on the fence about doing a Whole30, just take the plunge. It's amazing what the body will do for you when you give it the right foods it needs to live! Good Luck!
DEMS2011
Great job to both of you for finishing! I finished my first Whole30 about 10 days ago, and the reintroduction was a little scary, but has been going well for the most part. I leave for vacation tomorrow, and am already looking forward to doing another Whole30 when I get back!
madness
Awesome! I love the contract idea. My husband has started twice and only lasted a few days. I wonder how he would feel about the contract...
